About the Position

Operating a sportsbook in Mexico involves very specific tax complexities, including the excise tax on gaming. We are looking for a Tax Specialist who knows this area, who won't have to learn it on the fly, and who can ensure compliance with the SAT from day one of operations.

This position will be responsible for managing the issuance of CFDI, preparing tax returns, coordinating with external accounting advisors, and ensuring the company operates in full compliance with Mexican tax legislation.

We are looking for an individual with strong Mexican tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage obligations with strict deadlines in a regulated environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage tax compliance obligations with the SAT (VAT, Income Tax, IEPS on gambling).
• Supervise the correct issuance and validation of CFDI of income, expenses, and payroll.
• Coordinate with the external accounting service provider for the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation applicable to gaming operators in Mexico.
• Support tax mailbox management and attend to SAT requirements.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Payments teams to ensure the correct tax treatment of transactions.
• Keep tax documentation up-to-date and ensure timely responses to authorities.
• Support tax audits and regulatory reviews as needed.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in tax in Mexico, preferably in sectors with special obligations (gaming, fintech, or digital services).
• Solid knowledge of VAT, ISR (Income Tax), IEPS (Special Tax on Production and Services), and CFDI (Electronic Tax Receipt) under Mexican legislation.
• Familiarity with the SAT portal, tax mailbox, and electronic invoicing tools.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage obligations with strict deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with authorities and external vendors.
• Basic English (reading technical documents).
• Professional proficiency in Spanish.
