Responsible Gaming

Betting is entertainment. It is not investment, financial strategy, or a guaranteed way to win. When gambling stops being a pleasure, there are clear signs—and resources—to act upon.

Do you have a problem?
with the game?

These are the six most common signs of problem gambling. Regularly identifying two or more of them is reason enough to talk to a specialist. Recognizing them is not weakness — it is the first step towards regaining control.

You need to bet more to feel the same excitement.

The amounts escalate gradually. What used to generate adrenaline is no longer enough. This tolerance pattern is identical to that of other addictions.

You try to recover losses by betting more.

"Chasing losses" is the most documented behavior of problem gambling. Mathematically, it doesn't work—and it makes the problem worse.

Hidden how much you play or how much you lose.

Lying to family or friends about the game — or feeling the need to do so — indicates that the behavior already generates guilt or shame.

The game interferes with work or relationships.

When gambling displaces work-related, family or social responsibilities, it is no longer entertainment—it is an unchosen priority.

You use money from basic necessities to gamble.

Income, food, debts or loans to play. When gambling competes with essential expenses, the problem already has real economic consequences.

You feel anxious when you can't play.

Anxiety, irritability, or difficulty concentrating when gambling cannot be done are clinical indicators of behavioral addiction.
